DeLaet’s Puma Debut

GD

Graham DeLaet will debut his partnership with Puma Golf at the Farmers Insurance Open on January 23, 2014. DeLaet will hit the course fully suited in PUMA Golf apparel, accessories and headwear. Showcasing his Canadian roots, DeLaet will wear Canada’s national colors, red and white, every Sunday on Tour. PUMA Golf will support DeLaet’s signature Sunday look by using the hashtag #CanadianSunday.  I definitely vote this red/white look over Rickey Fowler’s #OrangePokesSunday, but maybe that’s just because I’m a Sooner.

I have already heard rumblings that DeLaet “surely made the move” from Canadian-based Sligo to Puma “because money talks.”  You know what really talks, though?  Marketing.  This move to Puma will greatly increase the marketing of his own brand, which, in the end, is the whole point of a sponsorship deal.  “Think win-win” as Stephen Covey would say.  In fact, DeLaet had a solid relationship with Sligo Wear and their deal was similar to his new agreement with Puma Golf.  There is simply much more exposure and marketing value in a partnership with Puma.  DeLaet is a good fit for Sligo, no doubt, but he is an equally good fit for Puma.

“PUMA Golf is a great fit for me and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of the team,” said DeLaet. “I have always been a fan of the brand and the innovative combination of function and fashion they bring to the game. Their unique style is matched with top-performing gear that will undoubtedly help improve my game, and I look forward to represent PUMA Golf on Tour in 2014 and beyond.”
