Augusta Green

Tall girls beware. As my tall sisters already know, trying to find a golf dress that is appropriate to wear in public (read: when you bend over the whole world doesn’t get a free show) is near impossible. I wish I could let you know that I have the perfect solution for you here in this post. Sadly, I cannot. This post is not for you.

I was excited to try out the adorable “Augusta Dress” by Oxford Golf. It is a pleated, drop waist dress, with a nice polyester/spandex blend fabric that comes with a detachable pair of shorts. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work for me. The term “too short” is an understatement, so I won’t use it. Some precious 5’6” or shorter female golfer is better suited for this item. I will have to stick to my skorts and performance pants. For everyone’s sake.

Oxford does have a shirtdress called the “Adel” that is super cute too, as well as, some nice sweaters and longer fitting polos. Tops are always safe. Well…Except the ones that are made so short they end up being crop tops when I swing. Sigh.

For those of you that love southern style, Oxford Golf is a brand you will be drawn to.  My friend Amanda, shown modeling the Augusta Dress, is from Alabama and really liked the Oxford offering.  One of the golfers I work with is from Georgia, and he also really likes the men’s collection.  Oxford definitely has a southern charm.

Thoughts on Oxford Golf from the Fairway Threads Review Crew:

Amanda- “Green dress material felt nice, but a little short and could have used a bit more structure to show off my waist.”

Were there any items that others tried that struck you?

Marisha- “I liked Amanda’s green Oxford Golf dress! The color was vibrant and it mixed sporty with girly at a good balance.”
